What to Bring
Being prepared for your charter will help make your outing as fun and successful as possible. See below for what to bring on the big day.
-

MI Fishing License
In Michigan, a fishing license is required if you are 17 years of age or older. Anyone under 17 may fish without a license, but they are required to observe all fishing rules and regulations. Any adult actively assisting a minor who does not have a license must have a fishing license.
-

Cooler
Don’t forget your cooler so you can bring your catch back home with you!
-

Sunglasses + Sunscreen
The water reflects UV rays, so wearing sunscreen and sunglasses will help protect your eyes and skin from sunburn.
-

Rain Gear + Extra Layers
It never hurts to bring along a waterproof jacket or rain gear and/or wear extra layers! Wind and weather conditions can change rather quickly on the water. Being prepared by wearing or bringing an extra layer will ensure you stay comfortable.
-

Comfortable, Soft Soled Shoes
The best shoes for boating and fishing are ones that have a rubber/soft sole and are comfortable to wear for an extended amount of time.
-

Food + Beverages
6 hours is a long time to be on the water. Make sure to bring along some snacks and beverages for your trip.
